R&D

MG Engineering recently partnered with  BAE Systems Maritime Australia (Previously known as ASC Shipbuilding) and Flinders University to design and construct modular reaseach shipblocks. These shipblocks are situated at new Tonsley – Line Zero site as a newly aquired key asset to the Research and Technology team. Utilised for research of advanced manufacturing processes for future use at the state of the art digital shipyard at Osborne.

We are also closely watching the Universities research into advanced manufacturing techniques that may one day be more accessible to small & medium sized ship building enterprises such as ourselves.

Some of the technologies being trialed for future defence force build programs include confined space robotic blast and painting, implementing electronic tag boards to safe guard personal and trialling advanced paint systems.
